SalWe is one of the Finnish SHOKs
The Strategic Center for Science, Technology and Innovation (SHOK) in Health and Well-being was established in April 2009. The preparation work was conducted by the Ministry of Employment and the Economy.
The non-profit company SalWe Ltd., responsible for operational work and allocation of resources, was established by 28 shareholders in May 2009. Today the number of the shareholders has increased to 19 companies and 14 research organizations that represent the Finnish health and well-being cluster.
Saara Hassinen was appointed to the managing director of SalWe Ltd in June 2009. The chairperson of the Board is Aino Takala, Orion Diagnostica Ltd, and the vice-chairman is Tuomas Salusjärvi, Valio Ltd.
